Shapes, colours, materials: prize-winning
creative costume jewellery at Macef Spring
The Best of Ornamenta, the award for
creativity in costume jewellery design, now in
its second edition, was presented during the
recently held Macef and was one of the most
outstanding and popular events.
The winners in the competition’s four categories
were: Les Nereides D’Italie for the best parure;
Red Pulse for the best King Size component; I
bijoux di Simonetta for the best use of colour;
Asia Import for the best mix of materials.
The best of Ornamenta is an event aimed at
highlighting the creative verve of enterprises
in the costume jewellery sector, which comprises
the largest part of the vast area relating to
the “person”, and with 23 thousand square metres
and almost six hundred exhibitors (32% of which
are from abroad) is one of the biggest and most
significant “souls” of Macef. Launched on the
initiative of the specialist magazine of the
same name, the competition aims at truly
becoming the “Costume Jewellery Oscars”.
Following the success of the September 2007
edition, “The Best of Ornamenta” took its
rightful place as one of exceptional events at
Macef January 2008, and has confirmed its
vocation to stimulate the creativity of the
sector’s artists-artisans.
