Hall 1 - Macef – International Home Show
18-21 January 2008
Fieramilano - Nuovo Quartiere Rho - Pero
At the next edition of Macef – International
Home Show – an area over 360 sq.m. (stands F17 –
H12) in Hall 1 will be enlivened by the
Creazioni section. The event has been organized
by Fiera Milano International in collaboration
with Artex – Centre for Traditional and Artistic
Tuscan Crafts, with sponsorship by CNA and
Confartigianato. The inclusion of this area as
part of the Furnishings and Decoration section,
where furnishing accessories, decorations,
textiles and design objects play the leading
role, was by no means accidental.
The various high-impact displays are very
different from each other, but the arrangement
has been carefully thought out down to the
smallest detail to give an overall coordinated
effect based on an organic staging and setting
concept.
The main aim of the Creazioni project is to
focus on promoting the legacy of innovation and
research that exists in the Italian and
international artistic artisanal crafts sector
and create new areas of interest for those
operating in the sector.
This exhibition space, much evolved compared
with the first edition, will put the spotlight
on products where the value of the project -
whether it is an innovation, design or research
project - emerges thanks to extremely high
technical and manual abilities that allow ideas
to take shape as unique objects with great
personality.
The originality, refinement, curiosity and
innovation of the objects selected are
representative of the creative ideas and the
projects behind them. On display will be dynamic
pieces chosen for the energy they communicate
and for their significance; for design in daily
living and the rediscovery of traditional
materials used in an innovative way.
Furnishing accessories where copper, glass and
wood are shaped to form mirrors, trays and
clocks. Ceramics made with the ancient Raku
technique. And gold, silver and bronze jewellery
with essential designs or embellished with
stones; notebooks and photo albums in
extravagant paper; pieces in pottery or fused
glass with strange, sinuous, ethereal shapes and
delightful colours. Even the light fittings
become sculptures that decorate.
Among the protagonists, in addition to those
companies which are already well-known and
“consolidated” in the sector, will be young,
emerging enterprises, essentially made up of
designers and/or artists who produce their own
creations. The common denominator must be a
rigorously high level of quality, such as to
allow a complete picture of the innovations and
trends of Italian and European artistic
craftsmanship to be traced.
An important new aspect of this edition of
Creazioni is its openness to
internationalization.
Creazioni gives life to a new, prestigious
showcase for master craftsmanship from all over
the world.t some of the element that animate this edition.
